Judge Welch's Monroe County seat was filled with a person who only declared after he decided to run state wide. While he may be an idiot he was a popular idiot and there was no way anyone was beating him in Monroe County.

You have no idea what you are talking about in regard to Sam Welch. Have you ever set foot in Monroe County? Only Bob Riley and Ron Sparks got more votes in Monroe County than Sam Welch....that doesn't sound that unpopular to me...

BCA's endorsement of Paseur had more to do with Sam Welch, the idiot she was running against. Welch, a Democrat circuit judge in Monroe County, was drawing primary opposition from a formidable opponent in his race for reelection. When he realized he was going to lose the Democratic primary, he changed parties and ran statewide, running for the Court of Criminal Appeals. He is tied in with the trial lawyers so it is doubtful that BCA was going to support him.

I know Judge Pasuer's reputation, and she is known to be
honest and isn't the type to "do favors" for a political backer.
In other words, BCA won't get any favors out of her if she is
on the Supreme Court. Same can be said for the Trial Lawyers.
Bottom-line, looks like Paseur knows she must meet and greet
the big players in Alabama politics, but those big wigs won't
get any special treatment out of her once she is elected. Sounds
good to me.

I think it is always worrisome when you see the word "handpicked" in relation to elections. Particularly Judges. It is obvious that they are having to do something in return for being handpicked. It only encourages dishonesty in the judicial system.
