News in the Alabama Line
Former Jefferson County District Judge Pete Johnson has said that he will not pursue the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat held by incumbent Jeff Sessions. Those “Johnson for U.S. Senate” signs that some downtown Birminghamians had seen won’t get the full workout.
Johnson intends to “continue working with Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb’s task force to set up drug courts in counties around the state,” according to the Birmingham News today. (I could not find the blurb online; it is on page 3D of today’s paper.) I had heard that setting up the drug courts was a passion of his.
