Because Wise is a woman and the democrats are running a woman, they asked Wise to run. She was recently reelected to the Criminal Appeals court and has been on that court for awhile. To my knowledge, the other names mentioned on this board have not been in the mix yet. I suppose that if Wise wants it it is hers to turn down right now. Thompson's judgeship runs out after the 2008 elections (he beat Thigpen back in 1996 and had token opposition in 2002). A Thompson run for the high court would be "win or go home" for sure.
