Two tips for your lawn mower especially related to our disastrous drought.
- Raise the blade on your lawn mower. Closely cropped grass requires more water.
- Recycle your grass clippings back into your lawn by using a mulching mower. Your lawn will require less water (and you will also save time while mowing).

Danny, thanks for the lawn tips.
Mulching mowers save money, too. The clippings provide nutrients to the soil; don’t waste good clippings ($) that you’ve already watered and fertilized. I always try to blow my clippings back into my yard for the same reason (plus I can’t stand people who blow their clippings down the street).
Also, the more grass you have, the fewer weeds you have. Sounds self-evident, but if your grass is thick and healthy, weeds have a harder time getting established.

I really would have expected Loretta to join in with all this talk about grass.
