Sparks Won’t Challenge Sen. Jeff Sessions
Ron Sparks has made official what we already knew… he will not challenge incumbent Jeff Sessions (R) for his U.S. Senate seat in 2008.
Sparks, the state agriculture commissioner, said he decided not to run after talking with state Sen. Vivian Figures of Mobile, who is running.
“I believe that the best chance Democrats have to win that seat is if we are unified and avoid a primary battle,” Sparks said in a released statement.

Just makes me want to cry. He’ll be in the Senate until 2014. I may die with Jeff Sessions still my Senator.

I think Sparks would have had a very tough time against Sessions.

Yes, Sparks would have had a tough time, but not as tough as the time Figures will have. I am extremely disappointed.
