Gov. Riley’s former chief of staff Toby Roth, who worked on a 1996 campaign with Karl Rove, disparages claims made about Karl Rove’s involvement in the Siegelman prosecution. In Saturday’s Birmingham News, Roth defends Rove by suggesting that the affidavits were “sour grapes” from two employees of a company that lost out on a state contract last year.
FWIW, the article fails to provide the relevant context that Toby Roth worked on a campaign with Karl Rove. Roth was financial director for Harold See’s 1996 campaign for a seat on the Alabama Supreme Court, a campaign managed by Karl Rove.

I have no idea about the veracity of the affidavit, but Toby Roth
is the last bastion of little minds. How come all of them have names
like Toby and Twinkle?
