Goat Hill or Goad Hill?
Sen. Charles Bishop (R – Arley) speaking on Capitol Report on APT Thursday evening:
It shouldn’t have happened. Tempers flare. We were talking about what just happened. He called me a son of a bitch, ok? Where I grew up that is somebody talking bad about your mother, and when he did, I responded with my right hand.
Followed by Sen. Lowell Barron (D – Fyffe):
I really don’t know what set the gentleman off. The way this came about I went to the microphone and moved to carry over the bills. I was recognized by the presiding officer, came back and sat down at my desk. Didn’t know this gentleman was upset.
He walked over to where I was sitting in my chair and he said, “You better watch your back. I’m going to be here for the next three years, and I’m going to eff you every day.” I turned and I said, “I don’t give a darn what you do,” and turned and about that time I saw a punch coming.
Capitol Journal reported that Barron denied calling Bishop a name.
And in case you haven’t seen it….
