  • Textile plant closings? But I saw the ad on TV this morning, saying vote YES on the Amendments to keep Alabama’s economy THE STRONGEST!

And the Roy Johnson saga continues — y’know, Dept. of Postsecondary Ed. had a Turnham working with them for years (she retired a few months ago) … purely coincidental, of course.

The Fire College/Junior College mess is starting to show some very interesting kudzuish offshoots and tendrils.

Looks too that eventually this will be spun (cf the Decatur Daily editoral) into a yet another vast conspiracy to overthrow democracy, two party rule, etc.

Has there been an credible opposition to the two amendments? Been hearing blipverts to vote for Amendment 1 and the usual mail from RSA, etc about Amendment 2

My Time is Up

I write this blog with some mixed emotion. Over the last eight years I have served in the House of Representatives, and this Thursday will most likely be my last day in session as a House member. Of course, my term goes until November, and there could always be a special session at [...]

TRYIN’ TO CATCH UP

I’ve been in Venice on a little vacation and just returned last night.  I’ve been trying to catch up and see that there have been few dramatic events in the last 10 days.  I thought the www.fivethirtyeight.com piece was especially good, though the comments reflected the anti-Alabama knee-jerk reactions of those who live outside the [...]
