Insider Sees Special Session Likely

This weekend, Rep. Cam Ward (R – Alabaster) gave me his perspective on whether we are looking at a special session after the close of the regular session.

I think there is an 80% chance of one right now. If the budgets do not pass then by law we have to go back in. The sad thing is that all of these bills we just passed out of the House will have been for nothing.

According to the latest I hear the Senate goes in on Monday for the 23rd legislative day and plan on meeting until someone caves in. If they do not have the budgets read for a second time in the Senate by the 28th legislative day then the session is all but over.

TRYIN’ TO CATCH UP

I’ve been in Venice on a little vacation and just returned last night.  I’ve been trying to catch up and see that there have been few dramatic events in the last 10 days.  I thought the www.fivethirtyeight.com piece was especially good, though the comments reflected the anti-Alabama knee-jerk reactions of those who live outside the [...]
