How tense are relationships in the Senate?
Sources tell the Parlor that Charles Bishop (R – Arley) and Zeb Little (D – Cullman) exchanged “strong words” on the Senate floor Wednesday, after which Bishop invited Little outside. Little reportedly replied, “Why not here?” and at that point they were separated by security.

Update: The Birmingham News yesterday has a good article on the extraordinary divide in the state Senate. An agreement signed by reps from each side before they allow a few bills to go through? That’s a chasm.

I’ve wanted to comment, but all I can really say is “Wow.” Bishop needs to go to some anger management classes.

Easy enough, next time the EU ambassador comes thru town, he will chide us about “irresponsible legislators”, harrumph that the EU finds investment in such locales troublesome whilst EADS, Daimler and other ask what new tax incentives they can get.
