Couple of King Cohorts in Court

Filed under: Misc. AL Politics, AL Executive Branch — Danny @ 6:13 am

Attorney General Troy King has a couple of people associated with him facing their days in court…

The perjury trial of Anthony Castaldo, investigator in AG Troy King’s office, begins today. Castaldo has been accused of “‘testifying untruthfully’ in a case that the attorney general’s office was prosecuting in Jefferson County.”

A source close to the trial said that it was expected to “last about three days.”

After the indictment in September, Castaldo was placed on leave, but I understand since then he has been re-instated and that, despite the pending perjury charge, he has been cleared to testify in trials for the Attorney General’s office.

And the Press-Register reported this weeked:

Jennifer Murphy, who is the daughter of the victim of convicted killer Jeremy Jones and who appeared in a pivotal political ad for Alabama Attorney General Troy King during the 2006 elections, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree identity theft, authorities said.

  1. Careful. The other cohorts are busy Googling King’s name and then responding anonymously to blog posts. :)
