It’s a Thick Book Premieres

Filed under: AL Issues — Danny @ 12:19 pm

I don’t often stick my neck out on recommendations; tastes are so subjective. That said…

I highly recommend you see It’s a Thick Book, the extremely entertaining and well-done documentary about our state’s constitution. I had a chance to preview it last week, and I must admit I was surprised at how enjoyable it was. I would not have thought that a documentary about a state constitution could be so entertaining. Recent Homewood High graduate Lewis Lehe has done a terrific job making this.

It’s premiering at Birmingham’s Workplay Theater this Sunday at 3 p.m. and will be shown this week in Huntsville, Florence, Montevallo, Tuscaloosa, Mobile, Anniston, Montgomery and Marion. Director Lehe will be at many of these screenings. You can get full details on the showings here. Admission is free. If you don’t like it, I’ll give you double your money back.

Seriously, I think you’ll be glad you went. (The documentary is less than an hour long.) You can see a preview here.

Here are pieces from The Huntsville Times and The Birmingham News with more info on the documentary.

If you go, I’d like to hear what you think about it.
