Waiting for His Call

Still no copy available of the official call for the special session.

At this writing, the first blurb on the Governor’s official web site is entitled “Governor Riley Calls Legislature into Special Session.” The body of the first blurb reads

Friday, February 23 – MONTGOMERY—Governor Bob Riley has called the legislature into a special session. The special session will begin Monday, February 26, at 5:00 p.m.

and it is followed with a link to the “Full Story.”

If you click on that link, you are taken to the press release which has exactly the same text – not one word more.

That appeared on the Governor’s website yesterday,

From my email inbox: “Still no copy of the official Call, which would include the Governor’s determination that an ‘extraordinary occasion demands the convening of the Alabama legislature’ along with the issues to be considered.”
