Danny, thanks for shining that light. The DDL has worthy goals that would benefit all Alabamians by helping insure we have honest elections, without which we can't hope to have honest government. I would like to add that the DDL realizes that obtaining Initiative and Referendum for our state could help it achieve its legislative agenda, so it came out in support of I&R. Maybe you can shine some light on that from time to time also.

Don, thanks for keeping this before us... and Beverly, thank you for your hard work on Vanessa Hill's behalf. I'm glad to shine a little light on a good story like this.

I suspect that most of us don't realize what we are capable of doing for the greater good - and so fail to make the effort. Thank you for reminding us that we are capable of succeeding at important tasks.

I really like what Braswell had to say about this.

Danny and Don - Thank you both for getting the word out to your readers about the wonderful victory of justice for the citizens of Greensboro, AL!!! This has been a looong, hard-fought battle but the truth came out and Vanessa Hill is being sworn in today at 2:00pm in G'boro. I'm on my way to City Hall to witness this historic event. Wish all your readers would join with the Democracy Defense League to help us with our one and only mission of getting some of the laws surrounding voting changed so people who lose to fraud won't have to go through this and have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to file a contest. The current laws are pitiful and create the ease of voter fraud happening.

Danny, I thought this worthy noting because even though voter fraud seems to be more rampant in that area of Alabama, it does take place elsewhere in the state. That’s why I joined the Democracy Defense League (no cost involved) to help it in its fight against voter fraud. Just by adding my name to it’s membership of around 1,700 in about 40 counties it helps by showing some clout when the league approaches legislators with its agenda. I would urge every civic-minded voter in the state to join, and if possible, contribute to the DDL in an even more meaningful manner than I do. Incidentally, one of the league leaders had a guest column published in the Montgomery Advertiser yesterday which can be read @ http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006612140364 where Perry Beasley says, “Illegal ballots kill honest elections, kill good government, kill democracy. Ballots determine our future. Whoever controls the ballots controls our destiny.”
