Riley’s popularity has not appeared to help down the ballot, to the point that UAB pofessor and pollster Larry Powell says, “There’s no coattails.” I agree that the Washington scandals may be a factor into why Riley’s popularity and big lead is not showing up in a big way in other races. (I tried to get at this a little over in the Political Parlor forum, but couldn’t find any takers.)
