Bloggered

Blogger is being Blogger which means it’s being a pain. Blogger wouldn’t update the blog yesterday, and then it finally threw up three copies of the Sunday Daily News Digest.

Won’t let me do much of anything. This post may make it up since it is an email update, and G’s Daily News Digest made it in this morning as an email update.  So far I have been unable to remove the extra copies of Sunday’s Daily News Digest.

I have been trying to put off changing blogging platforms until after the election. I don’t have time as it is to blog about all the things I’d like before the election, much less doing it on a platform I am less familiar with, and not even to mention finding time to convert everything to a new platform and work out the hiccups and headaches along the way.

The Political Parlor forum is working fine. Would love to see you there.

  • Danny call me or shoot me an e-mail and I can help you get setup on my server with WP or something else.

  • ‘Sup Danny. I’ve considered switching over my own blog to WP for the same reasons. Blogger is easier to use, but WP is more stable and has more options. I’ll probably switch over after the holidays.

  • I won’t look back once I switch. Because I’ve delayed the switch a little bit, I’ve looked at a lot of platforms including WordPress, Nucleus, s9y, Drupal, Joomla, b2evolution, and pMachine.

WordPress may have drawbacks, but all in all I can’t figure out why I shouldn’t use it. That is almost certainly where I am headed.

Change

I wish my friend Hinton Mitchem godspeed and good luck after his retirement from public service. Hinton, on Monday, announced what many had suspected — he will not seek re-election.
