Alabama Supreme Court Voter Guide The Alabama League of Women Voters Education Fund and the Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice have released an informative voter guide for the state Supreme Court.

ACCR Questionnaire Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform sent a short questionnaire to every candidate for the state legislature. See how they responded.

To best use the resource, you will need to know the numbers of the legislative districts that interest you. With your own 9-digit zip code (found on a magazine, a bill, or here) you can find your district numbers here. You can also scan an alphabetical listing (with district numbers) of state senators or state representatives.

Candidates and Links to Financial Disclosure Statements At the Alabama Bankers Association web site, you can see all the candidates in any given race and click on their names to see who is giving them campaign contributions. This site is a little easier to navigate than the web site from the Office of the Secretary of State.

Glossary of Political Action Committees If you are looking at campaign contributions, you will want to refer to this list of PACs from the Birmingham News. (Updated June 4, 2006)

Issue and Interest Group Ratings from Project Vote Smart Project Vote Smart has 2004 ratings of Alabama legislators from the issue groups Voices for Alabama's Children and the Eagle Forum.

FollowTheMoney.org FollowTheMoney.org has good resources for tracking money in state politics. The tools for searching are excellent, but the site does not yet have all the latest financial disclosure data included.

Office of the Secretary of the State The web site from the Office of the Secretary of State has searchable campaign finance disclosure data. See who is giving to PACs and candidates. Also, see how PACs are distributing their money.

Candidates on Initiative & Referendum See how candidates stand on the issue of Initiative & Referendum. This site is a labor of love from Dr. IQ who believes in this issue passionately.
