AL-02 Big List

See also the AL - 05 Big List.

Welcome to the AL - 02 Big List.

Alabama with the 2nd Congressional District highlightedThis list has been an attempt to keep up with everyone in either political party who has been credibly mentioned (in public or private) as a potential candidate for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District since Rep. Terry Everett (R - Rehobeth) announced that he will not run for re-election.

Both parties’ qualifying period ended April 4, 2008. Three Democrats and six Republicans qualified for the primary race, and they are listed below. The primary is June 3.

The Political Parlor will update the Alabama Line (found in the sidebar) for the race, though perhaps not as fast as you like since input from a wide array of people is sought.

Smith has been calling Democrat Party leaders asking them to turn out their votes for her in the run off election next week. How far will Smith stoop in this race? Talk about desperate!

#1475 My goodness, are you gilley’s wife or one of his girlfriends? Let’s make sure you’re sober here. Gilley has hurt HAS and the campaign knows it. What are you drinking or smoking here, or are you just dumb, IMO?

As for Ronnie Gilley he has not hurt Harri Anne Smith and Jay Love you need to put your dogs back in the fence..if anything he helped her and you wanted his help and he refused you and now the lies began. My Vote to your poll is Yes he is a good man and will tell it like it is ….that’s what you so called hide behind Christian don’t like about him.Now shut your mouth and start telling the truth to the people ..I don’t hide behind anything I stand up for what I believe in and you are not it…..GOD HELP US IF YOU WIN….WHICH YOU WON”T.

It is plain and simple. The majority of posts on this site are anonymous. This calls into question their validity. The truth is Dax Swatek and the handful of GOP college students his shop employs are the ones fueling all this anti Smith and Gilley talk. They must be real scared of ole Gilley because they have poll in the field tonight asking all type of questions concerning how people feel about Gilley. Seems to me they must be real concerned about this Gilley fellow. Looks like they are trying to figure out if they want to take him on in the media or just keep on maligning his character via anonymous sources on the internet. At least use a screen name like me. That is not too much to ask. I give this Ronnie Gilley guy one thing. He is not afraid to speak his mind. We need more people in Washington like him. We don’t all have to wear a blue suit and a red tie and stick to the RNCC talking points.

I very much do not care for one person using multiple names to make multiple posts to make it appear as if more people are presenting a viewpoint than actually are. (More on this here.)

#1470, you should remain congnizant of the significant statistical overlap in the populations that voted in the primary and that attended BamaJam as they are similar in number and obviously consist of many of the same individuals. Accordingly, you should also be mindful that your disparaging comments about their intelligence, political acuity and visions of the country most likely come across as malevolent monologues. Whereas, JL only received the affirmative support of approximately 1/3 of the voters; he and his supporters should refrain from such malicious behavior if they desire to prevail in the runoff.

Ronnie Gilley has hurt HAS, PERIOD !!!!! This is an election , folks. You’ve read his posts. Is this the kinda guy you want HAS associated with? He’s all abouit self or he would shut the #### up !!

#1470, God will help anyways. I think the point your conscience was trying to point out was that more people find Ronnie Gilley’s vision for Southeast Alabama more inspiring than Jay Love’s.

#1469 Admittedly, you’re not very smart, and for that, I’m truly sorry. This is an election where your family and mine are being affected. If your vision for the state of AL and the country are based on BJ’s attendance, then , God help us all. You are displaying the mentality (or lack of, your words) for a Smith campaign gone sour. Hope Ronnie will feed you some more ribs!! Like em don’t you ? They’re free!! He has destroyed HAS in my opinion. I’m sure she wishes you wouldn’t post. She’s got enough trouble.

1464 Post those pictures Mr. G . We’ll post those flattering pictures of you “trying” to speak at Bama Jam. Glad you’re bringing your “adoration” forum on board. Why don’t you just go to work? Break some ground? Hummm………..

For those of you into those pictures of the Wiregrass Live party. I’m sure I can get some posted of Jay Love at my house having a big time listening to John Anderson. Probably even have some video footage if you’d like.

And anonymous, the one who said he’d take a lie detector test, strap it up and I’ll join you. Have Jay sit in as well. You can’t even put your name up to back your words.

Just keep lieing. It fit’s you.

    Good golly sir or mam,
I read your post with a grain of salt. Right after that along comes Gilley. You said he couldn’t keep his mouth shut and he was watching forums, and dang it all, YOU’RE RIGHT !!! I am a HAS supporter and I do wish that if Ronnie Gilley is really for her that he’d just stay out of it. Thank you for supporting her with your votes. She is a very concerned candidate. It seems like Gilley is more concerned about his own reputation than hers. Please, voters, don’t think HAS is really connected to him.

Mr. Gilley, I think you’ve hurt her enough. Take your ego to your new carnival and gambling dreams and leave HAS alone. You’ve done plenty already.

Oh yeah…I don’t know anything about a tape. I’ve never thought like that. I guess it’s because I’m a ignorant, country hick, backwoods wanna be. Maybe I’ll make out one of these days. I’m glad to know Jay Love has so many highly educated and sophistcated people working this forum for him. A real class act.

    Harri Anne Smith for Congress!!!!!!!
