I am also wondering how he "destroyed the conflict of interest" per Brad's post as the cases have so far been won by the legislators he focused on to garner public press for name recognition. These same legislators were working at these colleges when he was senator. Why wasn't it important then? I agree with Goldwater's Ghost about the red herrings. I'm still wondering who he fired. Making the system live within its means, Carolyn, is different from claiming he made $70 million in "spending cuts" which appear to be false given recent posts.

Brad and Carolyn you are engaged in red herrings. Pure deflection.

How long does it take for a Byrne supporter, staffer, sympathizer to get us an honest answer to a straightforward question?

Where does he get the $70 million figure for the "cuts" he uses as an accomplishment and evidence of conservative fiscal management??? I didn't make the $70 mill up, I'm simply asking for the proof. Who can point us to the figures of these supposed savings for the 2-year system?

I totally agree with 2010. I like Kay a lot too and wish she would run for Lt. Governor. She can do more good for our state by sending Jim Junior & his cronies off to retirement instead of slugging it out with Byrne, James & Rev. Roy. I say "IVEY FOR LT. GOVERNOR IN 2010"!! Now that's a winning deal.

Kay is sad. I like her old ads better - like the one where she yelled "where's the beef?" for Wendy's . . .ooh, and the one where she's playing football with Abe Vigoda . . . .

Just one more example of politicans who think the public is dumb enough to believe anything they tell us.

Wonder what she calls a politician who fiddles while Rome burns (i.e. PACT)?

And a few days ago she was in Huntsville saying that state government lives "too high on the hog." Well then Kay, why don't you resign your office and save us your salary since you're not in the office earning it these days?

Folks, this crowd of candidates is setting a new standard for having the bar set very low.

Segall has been running a very low key campaign so far. He did announce a web site change and public fund raiser in Montgomery (see facebook for details).

Some were hoping we might see a contrast or debate of ideas (e.g health care, defense, role of government, manufacturing vs agriculture) but this does not seem the case so far. However, thing's change.

Here's what's available online without paying. I plan to pay to get the rest, but it seems pretty clear the editorial calls her a coward not for opposing Amendment 1, but for not taking a position on it.

Profiles in cowardice

THE REGISTER editorial board has spent the last few months in regular criticism of opponents'arguments against Gov. Bob Riley's tax reform plan. What we find inexplicable, however, is not that some people object to the tax and accountability package, but that numerous leaders on the state and local levels don't have the guts to say what they think.
